			<title>Small Groups</title>
<description> What is a Small Group? Small Groups consist of people who want to connect with others and grow spiritually. Usually meeting in a host's home on a regular schedule, they are formed based on common age, location, interests, stage of life, etc. They are gatherings of people who come together to study the Bible, serve in missions, pray for each other, and to gather socially for fellowship. Most importantly, groups learn to support, encourage and challenge each other as they take their faith journey together. Study coordinated with current sermon series: A New Creation Christ is the foundation of all things. We must return to him, go back to the basics to restore the world... so that he might have first place in everything. <title>United Methodist Men</title>
<description> Mayor Bill White Speaks to UMM January 9 St. Luke&#8217;s member and Mayor of Houston Bill White will be the featured speaker at the dinner meeting of the United Methodist Men on Thursday, January 8 at 6:15 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. His topic will be How Scripture Helps in Tough Decisions. According to his official biography, Mayor White's leadership has brought Houston together, as shown by his overwhelming re-election to a third term. He uses business practices every day at City Hall to improve service and get things done. He has aggressively attacked our community's most difficult challenges, such as investment in neighborhood drainage, reform of municipal pensions, holding the line on property taxes with rate cuts and increased senior exemptions, attacking crime hot spots and even faster removal of stalled vehicles to reduce wrecks and traffic congestion. Americans witnessed Mayor White's hands-on management style when he helped lead Houston's competent,...

Ever wonder what they do in rehearsal? Or do you secretly sing along with the Anthem every Sunday, under your breath, until your spouse or (worse) your child elbows you in the rib? If you answered 'yes' to any of these questions or even if you didn't, you owe it to yourself to come check out what the Chancel Choir has to offer you. We get to work...

			<title>Pure Sound</title>
<description> [back to fine arts home] Philippians 4:8-9 Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you. The Pure Sound Youth Choir of St. Luke's UMC is made up of 80+ singers from 7th through 12th grades. Members come from all over the city and beyond (Katy, Spring, Pearland) to participate in this exciting choir which leads in musical worship each week at our 8:30 a.m. Sunday service. Pure Sound presents an annual spring musical and tours bi-annually to places as far flung as England and Alaska. Plans for 2009 include a fully staged production of South Pacific (April 16-18 at the St. John's Theatre) and a tour to Scotland in late December. Rehearsals are held each Sunday...
